Why does Easter matter?

Because through the life of Jesus Christ, God's love has been unleashed in the world. You might not have noticed, but his followers here in your neighborhood are sheltering the homeless, caring for the elderly, providing volunteers in our public schools - and reaching out around the world to combat global poverty and HIV/AIDS, and doing many other things that really matter. If you are looking for a place of friendship - and a place where you can invest your life in things that really matter - we hope you will visit one of our churches this Easter Sunday or someday soon - because you matter to God. He has important things prepared in advance for you to do. (Ephesians 2:10)

Join us in serving our community:

Winterhaven (sheltering Laurel's homeless men and women in separate programs), LARS (the Laurel Advocacy and Referral Service), Teens Opposing Poverty (TOPS), Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving Dinner, Nursing Home Outreach, Latin Festival, Latin concerts, volunteer in a public school (or provide books or other school supplies for needy kids), provide Thanksgiving baskets or Christmas gifts for the poor in our area, volunteer with the Laurel Pregnancy Center (caring for moms facing unplanned pregnancies), join a divorce care support group, help a former prisoner, rebuild a historic structure, mentor children or teens, and much more!

Here is a small sampling of the locations of our collective work around the world - if you have a heart for the people of a particular region - send us an email. We will connect you with the church or churches who send teams to that region. We send short term teams to have a spiritual impact as they also do construction, run children's programs, and provide many other forms of service: We are already touching lives in:

Haiti, Kenya, Ukraine, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Brazil, Japan, Sweden, Nigeria, Ecuador, Mexico, Tanzania (deaf ministry), Andros Island - Bahamas (youth provide summer programming for children), Slovakia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Lebanon, and many more.
